Anuradha Bhagwati
November 8, 2007
After the Flagpole Forum earlier in the day, the faculty advised the students at the forum to go to their
respective dining halls so that discussion could be continued further. Bhagwati had arrived a few days earlier
and had attended both the Community and Flagpole Forums and was going to speak for the Woman Studies' Laura C.
Harris Symposium: Feminism in War, Feminism in Peace speaker series. During this time Dr. Lipari and the Doobie
collaborated to have her speak in the Curtis Dining Hall instead so that she may be broadcasted by WDUB across campus
and speak to the students directly. Anuradha Bhagwati was a US marine officer from 1999-2004 and achieved the
rank of Captain. She recently had begun to campaign against the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy of the
US military. Bhagwati was also a producer for the news of "Democracy Now!" and as of this recording is a
writer in New York City.

Flagpole Forum (Partial)
November 8, 2007
This forum began as an impromptu follow-up to the Community Forum the day before. The forum began as
a response to a blatant act of racism and prejudice against one of the RAs on campus. This audio was
broadcasted live and recorded, but only started about halfway through the actual forum but does contiue
through the end.

Community Forum
November 7, 2007
This forum was brought up to facilitate discussion about race, sexism, homophobia, and general prejudice
on campus due to a cascade of concerning events that occured in the weeks previous. Though these events
caused the actual forum, the event was hoped to bring to light many different problems that concerened the
student body as a whole. The event was broadcasted live and recorded by WDUB and brought to you here. Due to
limitations in our recording abilities, some speakers are cut off and parts of speeches were not recorded. We
greatly apoligize for this inconvenience as any voice lost here is a tragedy. This recording begins with President
Knobel's speech and ends with his closing remarks.
